SpecWise Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how YYYY2 Corp. ("SpecWise," "we," "us") collects, uses and shares information when you visit getspecwise.com, use its free tools, download our sample report or buy a report (the "Service").

1. Information we collect

Information you give us

  • Your email address, if you request the sample report.
  • Order details: your name, work email, company, the role title, where the work is performed, the job spec and any document you upload, how the role will be paid, how you plan to set it up, and your answers to our questions.
  • Payment details: processed by our payment provider, Stripe. We receive limited information such as your billing name, card brand and the last four digits of your card, but never your full card number.
  • Messages you send us, for example to hello@getspecwise.com.

Information collected automatically

  • Device and usage information, such as browser type, pages visited, buttons clicked, and actions on the site (for example, choices made in the liability estimate and the result of the free preliminary read).
  • The website that referred you, campaign tags in the link you followed, and an approximate location derived from your IP address.
  • We collect this using cookies and similar technologies. The free tools run in your browser; we do not link your answers to your identity unless you place an order, in which case your answers become part of the order.

2. How we use information

  • To prepare and deliver the reports you buy.
  • To send you the sample report you request and, as described when you request it, occasional updates about SpecWise.
  • To process payments and send order confirmations and receipts.
  • To answer your questions and provide support.
  • To understand how the website is used, measure our marketing and improve the Service.
  • To protect the Service, prevent fraud and comply with the law.

3. How we share information

  • Service providers that help us run the Service, such as payment processing, website hosting, data storage, email delivery and analytics, under contracts that limit how they use it.
  • Professionals who help prepare reports, such as accountants or other advisers working with us, who must keep it confidential.
  • Legal requirements: when required by law or legal process, or to protect our rights, users or others.
  • Business transfers: as part of a merger, acquisition, financing or sale of assets, subject to this policy.

We do not sell your personal information. If we begin using advertising cookies or similar tools, we will update this policy and provide any opt-out the law requires.

4. Information about workers

When you submit information about a worker or role, you confirm you have the right to share it with us for this purpose. We use it only to prepare your report. A worker with a question about their information can contact us at the address below.

5. Marketing emails

If you request the sample report, we will email it to you along with occasional updates about SpecWise. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link. We will still send messages about any order you place.

6. Cookies and analytics

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep the site working and to measure how it is used. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; some features may not work as a result.

7. How long we keep information

We keep order information for as long as needed to provide your report, keep records of what we delivered and meet legal and tax obligations. We keep sample-report email addresses until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. You may ask us to delete your information, subject to those obligations.

8. Security

We use reasonable safeguards to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Your choices and rights

  • You can ask to access, correct or delete your personal information by emailing us.
  • You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the link in the email.
  • Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under state privacy laws. We will respond to requests as those laws require and will not discriminate against you for exercising them.

10. Children

The Service is for businesses and is not directed to anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

11. Where information is processed

The Service is operated in the United States, and information is stored and processed there.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy by posting a new version with a new effective date.
